You need to check out this car before you buy it. This Tracker can be purchased for a reduced price off Craigslist Houston (because of PayPal and eBay fees). Every single light on this Tracker is LED, not one incandescent bulb. I have all parts to change it back to manual transmission and will let it go with. I integrated signal/blue perimeter LED’s into the side mirrors (not just stick-on), all gaudy large marker lights deleted and replaced with small clear LED’s, deleted spare tire from rear tailgate (have another stock tailgate to go with it). I fabricated the front bumper/skid plate (hidden receiver behind license plate for wench) and had Line-X w/ UV sprayed on (guaranteed not to fade). Rear bucket seats are pinned for quick removal. I installed power windows, power locks (including tailgate), integrated garage door opener in the sunvisor, rearview mirror w/ compass & outside temp, CrimeStopper alarm w/ remote start & paging, TapTurn signal, the Jetta instrument cluster was fitted and blue plasma backlit, all interior backlighting is blue LED, transmission temp gage, air pressure gage, EGT digital gage, cruise control works perfectly, intermitting wipers, 2000 model Tracker tilt wheel, driver & passenger airbags operable, onboard air w/ air horn, Jensen touchscreen DVD stereo w/ Bluetooth, SXM, iPod connection, MTX Audio 400 watt amp driving 2-8” Infinity subs, Kicker dash speakers, JBL mid speakers. The original carpet and seats were still in good shape, so I reused them (driver seat bottom has one cig. The frame and body were bead blasted and shot with epoxy primer, the frame painted with black single stage and body with PPG base/clear. Tires are 33’s (still at 85% tread) and wheels are 16”x10”. It’s hard to say just how much lift it has, but I do know it sits about 8” higher than stock. On the front, I completely reconfigured the frame rails for lift and installed 2.5” OldManEmu coils and struts (RIDES GREAT). I fabbed up some long lower control links for the rear with the stock coils, all reconfigured. The front differential is stock Tracker 4.30 ratio, the rear is a Corporate 10 bolt 4.30 limited slip taken from a 2000 Chevy S10 (I did this for the factory Disc Brakes). Yes, that’s right, this Tracker has the “bullet proof” Dana 300 w/ custom made, cable driven twin shifter (designed and fabricated by me). It is a 03-72L fully mechanical 4-speed overdrive (newly rebuilt) and, get this, a Dana 300 transfer case bolts right up to it. It took me about 6 months to finally get the automatic installed and working properly. When I did all the engine upgrades, the clutch started slipping (too much power), so I figured it would be a good time to change to automatic (tired of shifting gears). It is a model “1Z”, engine upgrades are: Bosio DLC 764 injectors, Colt Cams Stage 2 Billet camshaft w/ lifters, AHUtune1 chips (all from Kerma Diesel), oversize intercooler and piping, all aluminum radiator w/ electric fans, EGR completely removed and programed out, new glow plugs and wire harness, 2.5” exhaust w/ single chamber FloMaster muffler (no cat), IT RUNS STRONG!!! For the first 2 years, I drove it with a 5-speed manual transmission. ![]() I spent about 9 months putting this Tracker together. ![]() I am a huge perfectionist, especially when I am building it to keep. After a little research, I decided to install a VW TDi for the torque. I needed the smallest, lightest 4x4 to flat tow behind my RV, and that is why I decided on this particular vehicle. I personally did a complete "frame off" rebuild of this vehicle about 3 years ago. This 1996 Geo Tracker is like no other that you will ever find.
